« Board to Vote Tuesday, February 19th! | Main

Scenario “C”

By admin | February 19, 2008

Can you believe the school board agreed to sell LEBard?

This evening, I attended the “vote night” from the board member meeting, this was on Feb 19th. The fate of the schools was in the hands of the five board members. The members decided on senario “C” located here which includes the sale of LeBard school(where the school district office is currently). Basically, what affects me personally is my children. We play Seaview Little League baseball at LeBard and if Seaview Little League were to go away, that would be detrimental. What I don’t understand is that the president of the school board(Celia Jaffe) said “if we sell LeBard, it wouldn’t even come close to covering the costs of what we need”. But how the hell can they decide to sell it if she said a statement like that? I don’t get it! Did she mean “if we LEASE LeBard, it wouldn’t even come close to covering the costs of what we need”???

I guess on a positive note, Brian E. Rechsteiner, while making his vote, said that he needs the residents of the community to help them to get the city of Huntington Beach to purchase Lebard school. I’m not sure what needs to be done, but we’ll need to group together for this. It seems as if we have to now, jump on board with the school board to help them get the city to purchase LeBard. Now we are on their side?

After speaking with Mike Mailman(Seaview Little League President) out front of the meeting tonight, he talked to me about forming a committee and a board of “Seaview Little League Parents” to assist in helping the Seaview Board Members to work with the School board in getting the city of Huntington Beach to purchase LeBard. Standy By for more to come.
